The Board concluded the settlement amount was adequate and in applicant's best interest, and the attorneys' fee was reasonable and allowed.

Code § 5003 [setting forth requirements for form and contents of the agreement].) After considering the Compromise and Release in light of the entire record and the risks to applicant of further litigation, we conclude that the settlement amount is adequate and that the agreement is in applicant's best interest. We also conclude that the attorneys' fee requested is reasonable in light of the complexity of the case and should be allowed. Therefore, as our Decision After Reconsideration, we rescind the Findings of Fact and Order and approve the Compromise and Release, including the attorneys' fee requested. Finally, we commend the parties for their willingness to bargain in good faith and resolve this matter without the need for further litigation. For the foregoing reasons, IT IS ORDERED as the Decision After Reconsideration of the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board that the Findings of Fact and Order issued by the workers' compensation administrative law judge on March 11, 2024 be RESCINDED; IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Compromise and Release be APPROVED.
